So, I got this DVD in the mail the other day. Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West is the title. Apparently, the Clarion Fund has spent a whole boatload of money sending these DVDs out with newspapers in swing states like Pennsylvania. Or, in some cases, mailing them directly.
They sent me one. Check the name.
Here, it's easier to see on the close-up:
You have GOT to be kidding me. People, this is why you have a human check your mailing lists before you send out your screeds.

I think you're right. According to Wikipedia it's by some Israeli-Canadian film producer to warn us all about the dangers of radical muslim extremists. You know, just in case you didn't know that extremists of any kind are bad.
Can we get a clarification from Mr. Mackey? "Umm, terrorism is bad, mmmkay?" Thanks, Mr. Mackey!
I imagine it's just as hokey as the "Left Behind" movies are supposed to be. Those are from some zealous Christian organization.
uh, well, clearly they're just trying to prove that they're not stereotyping against you just because your name sounds vaguely like you might in some way be affiliated with Islam.
We want a poster of the photo of you. It's fantastic. It puts the apoplectic right wing in perspective perfectly!
BTW, how did you take that shot? I've been hired to do some "silo" (bright white background) product shots. How did you get that highlight "wrap"? Did you have an actual bright white background?
I have an actual bright white background. It's white muslin hung from a backdrop holder. There are two 500W floods behind me and to either side turned to illuminate the muslin. The subject is placed so that the floods are just behind it. Overexpose the shot enough that the various folds and wrinkles in the muslin are washed out and the subject is illuminated. Any folds that remain in the shot can be removed by adjusting the levels in your photomanipulation software of choice.
That's about what i figured. I have seen the nifty cardboard box, and the many commercially made versions that are peddled mainly to eBay-ers. The things i will be shooting are about the size of comfy-chair seat cushions, too big for those boxes. I have one key light and one fill light of the news interview type, mounted on my ceiling, and a photo grey felt backdrop roll (out of cat-hair reach except when in use) rigged above a dropleaf table. Guess i'm going to have to invest in another light or two. Got a big roll of paper that will do for the backdrop, for the time being. Thanks for the advice. Hey, have you gone pro yet?!
My space is so small, i decided to try flooding the backdrop with two clamp-on utility lamps (which i already have) w/ 250 watt bulbs in 'em. So all i had to buy was the bulbs. Will link to the results in a week or two. Thanks again!
Oh, and watch your mail for feminazi propaganda explaining why men are obsolete. ;^J
